Deception

Mom why did you concealed the truth from me,
That I'm merely a second contender in their eyes?

You said I'm worth it, like a priceless piece of art,
But now look at me I'm colourless.

You said I reminds me of the mighty moon,
So you granted me a name
A name now forgotten.

You said I'm wise, strong and beautiful,
So I clung to your words,
With an innocent trust.

Now I'm nothing Mom,
Just shadow on the wall.

Weeping upon the terrace
In your moon's gaze,
like a helpless child.
